• The promoter of this free prize draw is Don't Just Read the Abstract (www.dontjustreadtheabstract.com) which is a trading entity of Lionra Medical Limited. The prize is funded solely by Lionra Medical Limited.

2. Eligibility

 

• This prize draw is open exclusively to practising healthcare professionals, medical students, life sciences students, academic researchers who currently work / study in the United Kingdom.

• Exclusions: Employees, commercial representatives, or officers of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device companies are not eligible to enter or win.

• We may ask for proof of status in order to issue the prize. If the winner is not eligible, the prize will be redrawn.

 

3. How to Enter

• Free Entry: No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this draw.

• New Subscribers: Individuals who sign up for the free Don't Just Read the Abstract email newsletter via www.dontjustreadtheabstract.com between 3rd August 2026 and 31st December 2026 (the "Promotional Period") will automatically receive one (1) entry into the draw.

• Existing Subscribers: All existing active subscribers to the newsletter as of 3rd August 2026 are automatically entered into the draw.

• Active Subscription Requirement: Entrants must remain subscribed to the newsletter at the time of the draw to be eligible to win. Unsubscribing prior to the draw date renders the entry void.

• Opt-Out: Any subscriber who does not wish to participate in the draw may opt out at any time by emailing [Your Contact Email] or by clicking the opt-out link provided in campaign emails, without affecting their newsletter subscription.

 

4. The Prize

• Prize Summary: One (1) winner will receive a package intended to cover attendance at the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH) 2027 Congress in Vancouver, Canada (scheduled for June 26–30, 2027).​

• Prize Details: 

  • One (1) registration for ISTH 2027 or ASH 2027

  • A cash allowance of up to £2,000 paid via direct bank transfer, intended to fund economy return flights, accommodation, and subsistance for the duration of the conference.

  • The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no alternative will be provided except at the Promoter’s discretion. The winner is solely responsible for arranging their own travel, visas, passport validity, travel/medical insurance, and any additional expenses beyond the stated prize contribution.

 

5. Winner Selection and Notification

 

• Selection Method: The winner will be drawn at random from all eligible entries using a verifiable random number generator within 7 days of the closing date.

• Notification: The selected winner will be contacted via the email address associated with their newsletter subscription within 7 days of the draw.

• Verification: The winner may be required to verify their eligible role as a healthcare professional or researcher in hematology before the prize is awarded.

• Unclaimed Prizes: If a winner cannot be contacted, does not respond within 14 days of notification, or is found to be ineligible, the Promoter reserves the right to forfeit the prize and draw an alternative winner from the remaining valid entries.
